IE DownloadHelper does not detect videos

Icon turns green when there are videos to download

If you have IE DownloadHelper installed and see the arrow in the statusbar, the arrow should change to green, when you start the video to the right.

It the arrow does not turn into green, please see the guide below.
If it turns into green, but not on the site you visited, please read IE DownloadHelper explained to understand why any video cannot be detected.

Reasons for not detecting videos

Conflict with another Internet Explorer addon
Some addons for Internet Explorer like IE7Pro has been reported to interfere with IE DownloadHelper. You can verify if another browser addon is conflicting with IE DownloadHelper by disabling the various addons you have installed, relaunching Internet Explorer and verifying if you are able to download a video.

In Internet Explorer goto tools -> manage addons. Here you can try an disable other plugins installed within Internet Explorer. If you find out a conflict is causing the conflict, please reenable the plugins one by one, until you have located the plugin causing the conflict.

Issue with IE DownloadHelper settings
Try and delete all settings files for IE DownloadHelper.
These are located in a hidden Application Data folder.

Depending on your windows version, it is located in different locations:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\Application Data\Download Helper
Vista: C:\Users\[User name]\AppData\LocalLow\Download Helper
Windows 7: C:\Users\[User name]\AppData\LocalLow\Download Helper

An easy way to access the hidden application folders is to type the following path in Explorers address bar: %appdata%
