Playing video files

Usually video files on websites are in the flash video format flv. Most videoplayers can’t play this format by defualt, so you have the following options:

  1. Install the VLC media player, which is an open source media player, which can play almost any media format.

  2. Make Windows Media Player play FLV files by installing two video codecs:
    First install the Gabest FLV Splitter, and then install the latest FFdshow codec pack.
  3. Upgrade to the premium version of IE DownloadHelper, which will enable conversion. You can then save your files in your preferred media format.
